Black History Month Art and Essay Contests

Florida Launches Statewide Preregistration System for COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments

The state announced the launch of a statewide preregistration system to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments for individuals 65 and older and frontline health care workers. Individuals in Santa Rosa County can pre-register for vaccine appointments and be notified when appointments are available in their area by visiting myvaccine.fl.gov.

Park Officials - Additional Work Required on Hwy 399 Before Opening To Passenger Vehicles

Gulf Islands National Seashore officials are working with local community emergency services personnel to accommodate emergency services and provide an evacuation route, if needed, during ongoing repairs to J. Earle Bowden Way, Highway 399.  Additional work is required to provide safe passage for passenger vehicles and to meet Federal Highway Administration requirements.




FEMA: Escambia County Recovery at a Glance

Since the federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Sally, Escambia County residents have received approximately $25.8 million in total federal funds.

Individual Assistance:

2,410 homeowners and renters have been approved for more than $10 million in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program.
2,308 flood insurance claims have been filed. An estimated $14.3 million has been paid in claims.

Nearly $1.5 million has been approved in low-interest disaster loans for 38 homeowners and renters.




SRIA Sets Budget Workshops

The Full Board of the Santa Rosa Island Authority will meet in a budget workshop on June 10 and June 24 in their boardroom and via Zoom to finalize and approve the 2020-2021 budget. The document is then sent to the Board of County Commissioners for their review and vote on Sept. 22
