As of Monday, June 29, there were a total of 6 Pensacola Beach lifeguard who have tested positive for COVID-19.
On June 23, Escambia County confirmed that there was one lifeguard who tested positive. Through contact tracing, 10 COVID-19 tests were administered to other lifeguards. A second lifeguard tested positive who rode in a truck with the first positive. Those lifeguards were stationed in towers and had not had close contact with the public. The ten lifeguards who were identified through contact tracing were tested and sent home awaiting results. Results as of Monday, yielded 6 positive.
