After three years of dedicated service, Leigh Davis, the Executive Director of the Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) on Pensacola Beach, has made the heartfelt decision not to seek renewal of her contract, which is set to expire on April 19, 2024.
In an official statement to the SRIA Board and public at Wednesday night's meeting, Davis expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her during her tenure and outlined her commitment to ensuring a smooth transition.
"Pensacola Beach is an incredibly special place, and it has been an honor to serve as Executive Director of the SRIA," said Davis.
During her term, Davis has spearheaded various initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of SRIA services. Notable projects include the use of BidNet Direct for bidding projects, transparency improvements through the earlier posting of agendas, and a comprehensive review of SRIA policies.
Recognizing the importance of a seamless transition, Davis has pledged to focus on concluding ongoing projects under her leadership in the coming months. She has also emphasized the paramount importance of initiating the search and hiring process for her successor.
Should the recruitment process extend beyond the contract expiration date, Davis has graciously offered to remain available on a month-to-month basis.
